The short version
Everything you type into our tools — URLs, text, WiFi passwords, contact details — and every image or camera frame you scan is processed entirely in your browser. None of it is transmitted to, stored on, or visible to our servers. We could not read your data even if we wanted to.
QR code generation
QR codes are generated client-side with JavaScript. The content you encode is placed directly into the downloaded image on your device. We do not use redirect or shortener services, so the codes contain no tracking and never expire.
QR code scanning
The scanner uses your browser's built-in barcode detection (or a local JavaScript fallback). Camera access is requested only when you press "Start camera", video frames are analyzed in memory on your device, and uploaded images are decoded locally — nothing is uploaded anywhere.
Analytics
We use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics to understand which pages are useful (page views, referrers, device type). Analytics never includes anything you type into the tools.
Cookies and storage
The tools work statelessly: we set no cookies and store nothing in your browser between visits.
External links
Links to the App Store and links decoded from QR codes you scan lead to third-party sites with their own privacy policies. The App Store links include a campaign tag so Apple can tell us, in aggregate, which page an install came from.
